Propane Grills Make Grilling Easy

Grilling out has become a social tradition, four out of five American families own a grill and during the summer those grills are in use most weekends.  We use grilling out as an excuse to invite friends and family to gather, socialize and eat.  Everything revolves around the grill on these warm Saturday or Sunday afternoons as children play in the yard and the adults mingle.  More people prefer the smoky flavor and aroma of charcoal grilled food, but propane grills make grilling easy and convenient.

Propane grills have on and off switches which makes it easy to start grilling by controlling the propane regulator, almost on demand; charcoal grills take at least thirty to forty-five minutes before the coals are ready to cook on.  Propane grills have temperature control knobs that allow you to control the flame so food can be cooked properly.  They are also much easier to deal with when the barbeque is over.  You can just turn a gas grill off; a charcoal grill has hot embers that need to cool down before they can be disposed of, this can be a danger if there are children playing nearby.

Propane grills are not without dangers; propane is a very flammable gas.  The gas cylinder should be properly checked for leaks, and properly attached to the grill.  Overall, propane grills offer a safe and handy cooking method as long as the grill is situated away from buildings, trees and shrubbery, and children’s play areas.

Propane grills can cost anywhere from $200 to $4,000; most of us have the average gas grill which can range from $200 to $400.  Among medium-sized grills the most recommended is the Weber Genesis E-320, which is highly rated by consumers due to its excellent cooking results, safety and convenience; however the most affordable you can get with this model is about $500.  For larger grills, the Viking T-series starting at about $3,200 and the Weber Summit S-650, $1,750, are both great buys according to consumer survey reports.

The most important thing to consider when choosing a propane grill is durability, convenience and features.  Of course, we all have to be budget conscious, but if your cheap grill falls apart your party will be a bomb.
